We refused it, as we cannot in good conscience send anyone to this resort! Also of note, we found a huge dead bumblebee by the ping pong table, the main door to the deck stuck and was difficult to open, all the patio furniture cushions were filthy and covered in debris/dirt/pollen, there was nowhere to put a suitcase in the master besides the bathroom floor, and we found used shampoo/conditioner bottles and used razor on the bathroom counter in the basement.
Told them we’d never be back and live too far away.

Night manager said he knew the problem immediately when I told him we were in 4103 and he said that is among the 3 worst accessible driveways in the resort! He said driving on those roads is worse than driving on ice anytime it rains! None of this was disclosed before we booked and paid $2K! We chose this cabin in East because the online description said it was “easily located” on “paved roads” in a “neighborhood setting” and “in normal weather conditions, 4-wheel drive is not necessary.” We were offered a certificate for the full amount we paid, to be used by the end of the year. Night manager said they’d likely be able to re-book the cabin after we left since it was a busy holiday week/weekend. Told them we never unpacked or used anything in the cabin. We have a Ford 1-150 double cab without 4-wheel wheel drive. Told them we couldn’t safely access our cabin driveway, even in normal dry weather. Went to the office again to let them know we were leaving. Oncoming truck we encountered went off the road & spun out trying to pass us. Tires spun at least 3x just getting back. After dinner, we trekked it back to our cabin. Office staff made my husband feel like he was making it up and said they never have any complaints about the roads. Stopped in the office on way to dinner 20 min after we checked in to make our displeasure with the conditions known. Never unpacked and checked out within a couple hours (had to drop off our suitcase and attend a dinner reservation first). We drove 10 hours for a 5 night stay and were not able to safely access our cabin driveway in our vehicle. Roads are 1-lane, NOT 1-way, very narrow, very steep, winding, and several near impossible sharp turns. Complete failure to disclose unsafe driving conditions to & from the cabin online (Cabin 4103). Night manager said they’d likely be able to re-book the cabin.
West also includes a seasonal swimming pool and picnic pavilion.Would give 0 stars if I could. Our West location, located 5 miles off the parkway (and 10 min from the East location), offers 1 to 5 bedroom log cabins in a more rustic and secluded Smoky Mountain setting. Adjacent to East is our Old Homeplace Community nestled with 1 to 5 bedroom farmhouse cottages. Hidden Mountain East is a gated community with a mixture of manicured grounds and natural wooded areas boasting 1 to 14 bedroom log cabins and 2 & 3 bedroom mountaintop villas. Hidden Mountain offers 2 locations- an easy-to-find resort community at East or a secluded mountain community at West.
